They say do what you love and it stops being work.
I love helping others. And believe that life is about balance. In the 20 years that I have been a Chiropractor, I have managed to merge my abilities and training into a practice that has led thousands of others to relief from pain, better health, and greater balance. I am proud of the work I do and take tremendous joy in seeing my patients regain abilities lost through injury, progress through challenges and grow more confident. I want every one of my patient's to succeed in the goals they set with me, and am blessed to see them achieve success everyday in my practice.
My Style
I integrate soft tissue modalities with chiropractic adjustments. I like to make sure your entire spine is right, not just where it hurts. Often we’ll find that your ankle injury is contributing to your low back pain. Or your shoulder/elbow injury is affecting your neck stability. If that’s the case, we’ll get those extremities in the right alignment, too. It’s all connected, and you are so much more than just your neck or low back pain.
We’ll talk about how a healthy diet and good nutrition can change your life. You really think excessive fast food and sweets do not affect your physical health? Let’s talk about basic posture, and how not to let gravity get the best of you. Did you know there’s a good chance that the way you’re breathing is putting stress on your neck and shoulders? I show you ways to breathe more efficiently. You will be breathing for the rest of your life. You might as well learn how to do it right.
I want to talk about what you can do to be in the best health you can possible be. You can expect direct and punctual communication with me via telephone or email. I wear most of the hats in my office. If you call and get voicemail, I’m probably with a patient or maybe taking out the trash. Leave me a message. I’ll get back to you right away!
When you come in for your appointment, you won’t need to bring that long novel. Your time is just as valuable as mine. Wait time is minimal, if at all. When you make an appointment I don’t make you wait 4-6 weeks. My policy is to see all patients the same week (or next). It’s a lot like a concierge practice… only without the concierge prices. This is how I’ve done things since 1996
Initial Visit
I run a small, service-oriented health care practice. That means that you can expect me to really listen to your story. I want to know how I can help you. We’ll spend time going through the history of you in order to put the full picture together. What’s making you hurt today might be related to something in your past. After all, it’s not like you changed out your body.
During our 45-60 minutes together, we’ll discuss your health goals, run through some orthopedic/chiropractic tests, and check you out from head to toe. We’ll wrap up with some treatment. I don’t always do x-rays, but if I feel you need them, we’ll get them done.
Regular Visits
Once we’ve figured out what makes you tick (or what’s keeping you from ticking properly) in your initial visit, I’ll give you my assessment, and make a specific plan of action to get you to your health goal. We will work on your plan during each visit. Follow up visits are usually 20-30 minutes.
My Services
Chiropractors are experts at getting you in touch with your body. We know that as humans we are living, dynamic, self-regulating beings. This means you have the innate ability to heal and stay well. Sometimes life catches up with you and knocks you off kilter. Life is full of physical, emotional stresses that can accumulate. Your body may feel tired, susceptible, not at a level of vitality you expect. You literally feel it in your bones.
Did you know that chiropractic care is effective for many other conditions aside from a stiff neck and low back pain? http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21838523
After careful evaluation treatment will most likely include:
Chiropractic Spinal adjustment: The application of a very control, rapid force to realign the vertebral joint, thus restoring optimal motion.
Chiropractic Extremity Adjustment: Think of all the stress you put in your elbows, knees, wrists. They can get out of alignment, too.
Myofascial Release: Deep tissue massage used to break muscle patterns that may interfere with the efficacy of the adjustment.
Electric Muscle Stimulation: Therapeutic application of electricity to alter dysfunctional neuromuscular stimulus
Motor Vehicle Accidents
If you’ve been in a car crash, I’m sorry that you have had to go through this. I know it can be so disruptive to your life. If this is your story, please remember: Metal, glass, and rubber bumpers are NOT the same as your precious human tissue. Just because there’s only a minor scratch or dent in your car, does not mean you didn’t sustain bodily injuries. Often, even low speed impacts can mess you up.

Often, injuries resulting from a car crash are not obvious. You may not be bleeding or have broken bones. Instead, things have been violently shaken up inside. Muscle, tendons, ligaments have been pulled causing bones to be misaligned and nerves to be grated.
You have inflammation and now scar tissue is starting to form. This can lead to permanent and chronic conditions of pain, stiffness, headaches, and feeling lousy. Chiropractic care gets right to the root of the problem: your crooked bones, and gets them back in place allowing for true comprehensive healing

Doctors of Chiropractic will work closely with you to make sure you fully recover.
I know that you just want your normal life back. No, it’s not too much to ask for
About Me
I had the privilege of having grown up in Hawaii. I spent a lot of my youth surfing, playing ukulele, and eating Poi. I've been a San Francisco resident since 1990. Most of my time has been living in the Mission District. I have a deep connection to this place and the community. I graduated from Life Chiropractic College West in 1995. My private practice started in 1996. I treat each patient as the unique individual that they are. I will incorporate all the facets of your life to create the most meaningful health pathway as possible.
In my personal time, I often surf to relax. When I'm not surfing, I'm usually enjoying the beautiful hiking trails around the Bay, or foraging the urban landscape of San Francisco for my next amazing meal... generally just enjoying all that the Bay Area has to offer.
